Life Insurance Coverage That Makes Sense

Straight answers on term, whole, and final expense life insurance from an independent agent who works for you — not for one insurance company.

No Sales Pitch, Just Real Answers

Shopping for life insurance usually means wading through sales pitches instead of getting real answers. Burke Insurance Group works differently. As an independent agency, we’re not tied to a single carrier, so we compare policies across the companies we work with and help you find coverage that fits your budget and your goals — not just the policy that pays the biggest commission. There’s no cost to talk with us, and no pressure to buy.

Is This You?

  • You want to make sure final expenses (funeral, medical bills, remaining debt) don’t fall on your family
  • You’re looking to lock in coverage while you’re still healthy enough to qualify for better rates
  • You have a Medicare plan with us already and want to round out your coverage
  • You’re comparing term life insurance to protect your family during your working years
  • You want a policy that’s simple to understand, without hidden fees or confusing riders

Types of Life Insurance We Help You Compare

Term Life Insurance

Coverage for a set period — typically 10, 20, or 30 years — at the lowest cost per dollar of coverage. A solid fit if you need protection while you’re paying off a mortgage, raising kids, or covering other time-limited financial responsibilities.

Whole & Permanent Life Insurance

Coverage that lasts your entire life and builds cash value over time. Premiums are higher than term, but the policy never expires as long as it’s paid, and it can serve as part of a longer-term financial plan.

Final Expense (Burial) Insurance

A smaller, simplified whole life policy designed specifically to cover funeral costs, medical bills, and other final expenses — with easier qualification, often with no medical exam required. A common choice for people already enrolled in Medicare who want to take that worry off their family’s plate.

Life Insurance FAQ

It depends on the policy. Term and whole life policies often require a health questionnaire and sometimes a brief exam. Final expense policies are usually simplified-issue or guaranteed-issue, meaning little or no medical exam is required — though guaranteed-issue policies typically cost more per dollar of coverage.

Term life covers you for a set number of years and is usually less expensive; if you outlive the term, the coverage ends. Whole life covers you permanently and builds cash value, but premiums are higher. Which one makes sense depends on what you’re trying to protect and for how long.

Yes. Many people add a final expense or small whole life policy specifically to cover funeral and end-of-life costs so those expenses don’t land on their family. Age and health affect pricing and eligibility, but options exist even for older applicants.

It varies widely based on age, health, coverage amount, and policy type. The only way to get an accurate number is to compare quotes for your specific situation — which is exactly what a free consultation with us is for.

Some life insurance policies include a chronic illness or accelerated death benefit rider, which lets you access part of your death benefit early if you become chronically ill — often at little or no added cost. That’s different from a dedicated hybrid life/long-term care policy, which is specifically structured to provide a larger long-term care benefit. If long-term care is a priority for you, it’s worth comparing both — see our Long-Term Care page for more on how hybrid policies work.
